Our son Alex is 5 years old and was diagnosed with ALL (Leukemia) on March 7, 2003.

He has done well on treatment, and has to go in sometimes once a week, three times a week, sometimes every two weeks. He is on his first year of intensive treatment and will be on maintenance for the next two years which means hopefully going to the hospital once a month.

He has a very strong and positive outlook on everything he loves the people at the hospital and sometimes doesn't want to come home. He is forever saying 'when I'm not sick anymore can I have a puppy..or can we go back to Mexico... or can I play with kids even if they aren't sick?'

Sometimes it is heart breaking things that he says or does, just because we see his limitations, but he doesn't which is what keeps us going. Sometimes we think that we are helping him but when you think about it he helps us go through a lot of this.
