R.O.C.K. Ride - 2005 Results

On behalf of the R.O.C.K. Ride, the Childhood Cancer Foundation Canada, and all those affected by childhood cancer we thank-you for your support in 2005.Our 2nd annual ride was a great success, more than doubling our funds raised in 2004. By the end of the day, we had raised $26,042 for pediatric research.

A special visit from the Cambridge Professional Fire Fighters Association, complete with fire truck and a donation of $700.00 was a morning highlight. An exciting new route featuring the awesome beauty of the Forks of the Credit has been added to many riders' favorite rides. Back at the Lil Big Horn riders cooled off and filled up on burgers and sausage provided by M & M and Sobeys while listening to the rockin' country tunes of the Dan Younger band. Prizes were in abundance again this year with 4 tables filled with leathers, helmets, bags, and every manner of motorcycle gift. As an added bonus it was a ROCK-rider that won the Molson pocketbike at midnight.

R.O.C.K. 2005 Notes

• 85 riders on 61 motorcycles rode, including 2 sidecars and a wheelchair-access trailer
• 1445 individual donors pledged money through our ROCK-riders
• 66 corporate sponsors donated thousands of dollars in prizes and supplies
• Nearly a third of our riders raised in excess of $500 each
• Dan Whyte of Barrie won top fund-raiser with $2,256.00
• Larry Christian was the raffle winner for our Toronto getaway weekend grand prize
• Chapter 270 (Kitchener) of the Southern Cruisers took the club cup again this year
• over 15 volunteers (pre-ride and event day)
